With designer furniture throughout, and moody lighting to match, you’ll be feeling right at home like Frank Lloyd Wright.

  • Outside.

Accessed via the living space, a hidden stair takes you to a secret roof terrace complete with wood fired hot tub set in our karesansui garden (raked gravel garden) beneath the towering oaks.

Design Info

  • About The Architect

    Built Works

Built Works is a RIBA chartered architecture and design practice founded in 2020 with a vision to combine cutting edge technology with environmentalism.

  • Design Concept

The design of Architect’s Cabin specifically references the vernacular of the traditional granaries and grain stores found throughout the south east of England which are typically small square structures elevated on stone footings to keep produce safe from vermin. Defined by their angular/square shape and dark black cladding, in this interpretation the roof has been removed to reduce visual impact.

  • Materials

Architect’s Cabin will be constructed from Timber and cork. Externally burnt timber cladding (Shou Sugi Ban) references the black stained agricultural buildings on the farm and allows its to blend into it’s shaded context amongst the trees.
